Georg Helg

Head of Origination

Georg Helg holds the position of Head of Origination at SHS. Since graduating from the European Business School, he has spent more than 20 years in management positions in corporate and mergers & acquisitions consulting for Deutsche Bank and ABN AMRO. From 2011 to 2021, he was responsible for identifying investment opportunities in Germany, BeNeLux and Scandinavia as Managing Director Germany for the Swiss Capvis AG. In this role, he established business relationships with more than 300 M&A advisors and investment banks, as well as a large number of financial investors, family offices and entrepreneurs, managing directors and advisory/supervisory boards.

Georg is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Historic Lake Zurich Boats Foundation. The purpose of the foundation is to preserve mobile cultural assets built on Lake Zurich. In his spare time, he supports the foundation with fundraising and trains new captains on the beautiful vintage boats, which were built from solid wood until the 1950s. Today, they are often used for events such as wedding parties or swimming trips.

Georg is married and the proud “father” of a 3-year-old “Soft Coated Irish Wheaten” terrier named Paula, with whom he goes for a walk in the Zurich woods every morning. Paula already has Swiss citizenship, Georg and his wife are also endeavouring to obtain it and should soon be rewarded in this respect. This closes a circle for him, as his ancestors emigrated from the Swiss Jura to Aachen many years ago.
