The people behind SHS
Our team: These people are our success factor
Sascha Alilovic
Managing Partner

Sascha Alilovic
Managing Partner
After having spent about 20 years in transactional roles (M&A, IPOs and other capital market transactions), having experience in founding corporate finance boutiques and as well as having had managerial roles in global corporates, Sascha joined SHS in 2018. Having a computer science degree next to his finance background, he is thrilled by the opportunities of digitalization in the healthcare sector. Amongst other things, Sascha is focusing on the end of the lifecycle of SHS’s investments – the partnering of SHS’s portfolio companies with strategic acquirers. Sascha serves on several medtech and life science company boards and led SHS’s first investment outside of the German speaking regions. Sascha is also promoting the necessity and opportunities of promoting innovative medtech, being a frequent speaker at European life science investment conferences.
When it comes to soccer, Sascha is a big supporter of Germany’s best football team – at least in his perception there is no one who beats Borussia Dortmund with that. Neither his colleagues at SHS nor his neighbors in Munich would agree. When it comes to European championships, he is a bit more open minded – being a son of Croatians who moved to Germany and having a Russian wife with a Swedish passport allows him to favor quite some teams in tournaments. He is also trying to beat the odds by running every morning prior to coming to the office, no matter what time of the year it is.
Guillaume Balz
Investment Manager

Guillaume Balz
Investment Manager
Guillaume joined the SHS team in January 2023. After obtaining his bachelor's degree in economics in Dortmund and Athens, he completed his master's degree in finance and strategic management in Copenhagen. He then decided to join Simon-Kucher & Partners where he advised companies on marketing, sales, pricing and go-to-market. From the beginning of his career, he was passionate about and specialised in the medtech and digital health sector. After three years in strategy consulting, he moved to SHS.
In addition to SHS, however, the call of the mountains drew him back to southern Germany, as racing biking and skiing are his undisputed hobbies. Another of his passions is culinary arts. He likes to spoil himself and others with new delicacies and tried-and-tested classics - for example, his homemade tiramisu is out of this world.
Cornelia Gänsicke
Head of Controlling and authorized signatory

Cornelia Gänsicke
Head of Controlling and authorized signatory
Cornelia knows that the devil is in the detail. Since joining SHS in 2007, she has been working to improve the controlling of SHS’s portfolio companies and is in charge of reporting to the investors of SHS’s funds. On top she takes care of the funds’ financial and regulatory issues. Prior to SHS she used to work in similar roles in global conglomerates.
In her private time, Cornelia enjoys trips to the countryside. Another favorite pastime is skiing together with her family.
Heike Grammer
Controlling

Heike Grammer
Controlling
Heike has been enchanting her colleagues since 2018 with her incomparable charm combined with high competence. Active in accounting and controlling, she is also one of the key people behind the further digitalization of all processes at SHS - from contract signatures to personnel and accounting tools, her colleagues are getting dizzy at the speed she sets. She is also the central project manager for SHS' investor days, which could hardly run more smoothly despite all the adversities. She is responsible for all internal personnel processes.
Privately, Heike also likes to let the (male) dolls dance. For years Heike has been training a men's dance group, which has its biggest performances especially during carnival time.
Regine Hujer
Head of Administration and Management Assistant

Regine Hujer
Head of Administration and Management Assistant
Regine has been with SHS for nearly 20 years, covering all areas you could possibly imagine in supporting the management partners. She excels in generating clear and concise presentations, managing the sometimes chaotic travel and meeting schedules of the partners, organizing all internal and external events and running the PR at SHS. She also ensures that all colleagues are always equipped with functioning hardware and software. Regine has been the heart and the soul whenever needed, completely unshakeable by the world around her, always keeping her good mood and having a nice word for everyone. As a qualified instructor she is in charge of training new SHS employees doing a vocational education.
Regine’s green conscience extends beyond SHS – she is a convinced vegetarian, rides the bicycle to work and privately every day (“there is no such thing as unsuitable weather!”) and in general walks the talk. During late hours she loves to immerse into suspenseful thrillers which keep her awake even after she has switched the lights off.
Stine Kögler
Analyst

Stine Kögler
Analyst
Stine Kögler has been working as an analyst at SHS since 2019. Due to her great perceptiveness, which is essentially based on her studies of biology with a focus on microbiology and genetics, it is easy for her to structure the large number of incoming investment inquiries at SHS and assign them accordingly.
Stine loves spending time with her family, especially during the spring and summer months, actually she is never at home, but explores the countless hiking trails of the Swabian Alb with her loved ones.
Katharina Kolenda
Trainee

Katharina Kolenda
Trainee
Katharina is the youngest member of the SHS family. She has been training as an office administrator at SHS since 2020, whirling through the offices and within a very short time she has become an integral part of the team. Powerpoint presentations, scheduling, evaluations - she implements everything quickly and efficiently.
As a real child of the region, Katharina is certainly known to some people through her performances with her show dance group - the more splendid and colorful the costume, the more likely Katharina is in it!
Hubertus Leonhardt
Managing Partner

Hubertus Leonhardt
Managing Partner
Hubertus is a seasoned investment professional with a strong focus on financial and operational performance of investments. Being a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and certified tax consultant he strengthened his business acumen as a corporate finance manager at Arthur Andersen before he joined SHS in 1997. Being instrumental in legal and tax structuring of investments SHS portfolio companies and shareholders benefit greatly from his experience. He is an active board member of several medtech companies, having being involved as lead investor in a number of companies that achieved a successful exit be it by an IPO or by trade sale.
In his private time, Hubertus loves to challenge his younger colleagues with cycle races where he is holding the company record by far. On top he has probably skied every slope in Europe.
Dr. Cornelius Maas
Partner

Dr. Cornelius Maas
Partner
Cornelius started his tenure at SHS while still being a professional handball player and a student of international management. Being a vivid internal champion at SHS for digital health companies, he also quickly became sought after to drive leads and opportunities over the line – a strong dealmaker in its best meaning. He is an excellent negotiator trying to balance the needs of all parties to get to a joint win/win situation. That made him the natural manager to do the first pure healthtech investment at SHS. Cornelius represents SHS in a number of boards of life science, medtech and digital health companies.
In his spare time Cornelius satisfied his scientific curiosity by researching the space of corporate innovation in healthcare, leading to a PhD. Being a former world champion, he keeps his level of fitness by playing in a local handball team.
Lukas Maucher
CFO

Lukas Maucher
CFO
Lukas joined the SHS team in April 2022. With his experience in the business sector gained during his career at one of the Big Four auditing firms in Southern Germany, Lukas brings the best qualifications for his position as CFO of the SHS team. Before joining Ernst & Young as a manager and authorised signatory, Lukas completed his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a focus on corporate accounting and finance at the LMU in Munich. He then completed his Master's degree at the University of Mannheim with a focus on Accounting & Taxation. At SHS, his work focuses on controlling, regulatory issues, investor relations, HR and financial issues.
At 2 metres tall, you wouldn't initially expect Lukas to be in football. However, as an active player, former coach and Bayern Munich fan club founder, it quickly becomes clear that football is his greatest passion. But he is also enthusiastic about other sports and politics.
Anna Schleifer
Investment Manager

Anna Schleifer
Investment Manager
Anna has been part of the SHS team since September 2022. She completed her Bachelor of Science at the School of Business and Economics at Maastricht University. In addition, she did a Double Degree Master at EDHEC Business School / Maastricht University in Corporate Finance and Banking.
She then joined William Blair International as an analyst, where she had previously completed an internship. She was there for about three years until she was promoted to Associate and joined SHS.
As determined as she is in her job, she also pursues her hobbies. She enjoys endurance sports, especially triathlon, because exercise in the great outdoors is her balance to her professional life. Anna is a convinced vegetarian who likes to go on culinary journeys. From time to time, however, she also seeks peace and quiet at home with a good book or an afternoon with her cat, whom she is always teaching little tricks. After all, he can already do "sit".
Elisaveta Slobodyanik
Trainee

Elisaveta Slobodyanik
Trainee
Elisaveta has been part of the SHS team since September 2022. As a trainee, her fields of activity are wide-ranging, from everyday tasks such as mail and email traffic and presentation and document processing to supporting activities in the areas of administration, PR and event planning. With her calm and thoughtful manner, Elisaveta always performs her tasks reliably.
In her free time, Elisaveta enjoys Asian culture. Her enthusiasm for everything Asian, especially Chinese culture and cuisine, even goes so far that she has been learning Mandarin at the adult education centre for some time. Another of her hobbies is dancing. From ballet to breakdancing to jazz, she has tried it all. At SHS, she is also known as a big sweet tooth. Every now and then, she has to listen to teasing, such as: "Don't you like tea with your sugar?"
Uwe Steinbacher
Managing Partner

Uwe Steinbacher
Managing Partner
Uwe has, is and will always be an entrepreneur in his heart. Coming from a family that owned a number of small businesses, he founded his first company when he was 18 and sold his 3rd company before he was 26. After completing his formal training in finance and management, he started to share his experiences by becoming a growth investor in innovative companies, the typical German “Mittelstand” that is the backbone of the economy. Uwe is renowned as the perfect sparring partner to bounce some ideas regarding strategy around as he has seen the “real market” in all its facets himself. Uwe serves on several boards of medtech and life science companies.
Remembering basically all rock songs by heart, Uwe is frequently being asked at company outings to perform as singer and guitarist on demand. Being a strong supporter of Eintracht Frankfurt he does not necessarily agree on Germany’s top football club with his colleagues – but who does?
Sarah Stelzer
PR and Marketing

Sarah Stelzer
PR and Marketing
Born and raised in Tübingen, Sarah is a true native of Tübingen. At SHS, she is responsible for PR and marketing. With her cheerful and charming manner, she takes care of press releases, social media contributions, coordinates projects with our portfolio companies and is also SHS's mouthpiece to the outside world. Her degree in German and art history helps her to always find the right words and to get to the heart of the matter. Various internships in the PR field complement the already perfect prerequisites for her job.
Since her early childhood, Sarah has also been passionate about singing. She had singing, piano and ballet lessons from an early age. During her school and university years, she participated in several bands and choirs. Her passion for singing is only surpassed by her fascination with Korea. Even though Sarah's enthusiasm usually falls on deaf ears among her colleagues, she regularly raves about offbeat K-pop bands and Korean dramas. Sentences like "That's not sushi, that's kimbap" are the order of the day.
Kerstin Stuck
Analyst

Kerstin Stuck
Analyst
Kerstin has been working as an analyst at SHS since September 2021. Due to her combination of studies in biology and business administration, she is predestined to categorise and allocate the investment requests at SHS.
Her spare time is also dedicated to her enthusiasm for biology. In her large vegetable garden, she grows every vegetable that our climate zone has to offer. When she is not working in the garden or looking after the chickens, Kerstin travels all over Europe with her husband and two children in their brightly coloured caravan.
Manfred Ulmer-Weber
Managing Partner

Manfred Ulmer-Weber
Managing Partner
During his studies in Tübingen, Manfred became aware of the opportunities that lie in innovative healthcare companies. He started as an intern with the plan to stay for 10 weeks and has stayed with SHS for more than ten years now. Manfred is known to keep a cool head when everyone around him keeps ranting – soft in his speech, consistent and convincing in his arguments. He represents SHS on a number of medtech and life science companies.
Manfred used to be a semi-pro table tennis player and still has a bet for anyone that no one will be able to return even once on 20 of his serves. He also has a hobby he shares with many –watching soccer. Being a big supporter of VfB Stuttgart, he does not necessarily agree on the best football club in Germany with his colleagues.
David Wehner
Senior Investment Manager

David Wehner
Senior Investment Manager
After combining his molecular biotechnology background with a business degree David co-founded a medtech company which raised a seven digit Euro amount in several financing rounds. After that he joined a large corporate in order to build a new life science business unit to then come back again to his entrepreneurial core – helping innovative medtech and life science companies and thereby patients. His analytical skills combined with firsthand experience make him a great sparring partner for entrepreneurs.
David enjoys running, probably even more after having had the first date with his now wife doing exactly that – going for a run together. He has completed several marathons and has the Boston marathon on top of his wish list – probably again with his better half.
Dr. André Zimmermann
Partner

Dr. André Zimmermann
Partner
André was always passionate about innovative life science companies. Being a rare combination of being scientifically minded (a PhD in molecular biology is enough proof in the eyes of his colleagues) he is also trained in finance and banking. That led him to become an entrepreneur himself - first in a biomedical startup and, after successfully selling his shares, joining SHS to help other entrepreneurs in the life science space. André is our key person to liaise with partners – be it strategic investors into our funds, be it strategic partners for potential business development activities. On top he is in charge of ESG activities.
Next to enjoying as much time with his family as possible, André has a passion in education. He has led an initiative to have a bilingual education in the public system, from crèche to high school diploma. Hundreds of students have benefitted from it. On top he is well known for his baking capabilities – don’t miss it!
